Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Training
Post stroke/CVA/TIA and other neurological or orthopedic diagnosis a client may
be left with no ability, or decreased ability, to care for himself or herself. Skilled
OccupatIonal Therapy services can help you regain your ability to be more
independent with daily skills such as dressing, feeding, showering, etc.
Scar Management
Surgery can leave a client with hypersensitive scars that may cause a very noxious
sensation preventing them from performing their most basic activities, such as
dressing, to their most productive activities, such as work related skills. Skilled
Occupational Therapy services can help you improve your scar via the use of
desensitization techniques to decrease the annoying hypersensitivity in order to
be able to go back to a normal routine.
Pre and Post Cancer Rehabilitation
Once diagnosed with Cancer, clients need tools to start their journey toward
betterment. A Pre Cancer Rehabilitation Program will help you be on the right track
to begin this difficult journey. By providing evidenced based education and
exercises you will be prepared for the journey ahead. The Post Cancer
Rehabilitation Program will help you make physical, cognitive, and functional gains
to get back to your daily routine.
Adaptive Equipment Education
After surgery or disease, some clients may loose the ability to perform their daily
skills. Skilled Occupational services may be require to be teach you how to
perform your daily skills, but in different ways because of the limitations left your
diagnosis in order to achieve independence and decrease the burden of care your
loved ones may experience.
Range of Motion and Strengthening
Fractures, nerve injuries, dislocations, etc can be very debilitating to clients.
Skilled Occupational Therapy services can address limitations such as decreased
range of motion, edema, decreased strength, etc, to improve independence and
improve quality of life.
Conservative and post surgical care for Various Upper Extremity Diagnosis
Conservative treatment or post surgical treatment of Cumulative Trauma, such as
Lateral epicondylitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, etc are addressed
by skilled Occupational Therapy services to improve symptoms caused by the
diagnosis or to address sequelae left post surgically in order to improve your
quality of life and return to your daily routine.
Home Assessment for Safety
Prior to or after being discharged home from an acute care facility or subacute
facility, it is recommended you have a home assessment to ensure your safety at
home while you are healing.
Home Exercise Program
We will create an exercise program that is tailored to your specific needs and/or
diagnosis in order to improve the outcomes of your diagnosis.
Edema Management
It is possible that after surgery or with some types of diagnosis, swelling of hand,
digits, and/or arms may occur. Skilled Occupational Therapy services can help
decrease swelling in order to improve range of motion and your ability to perform
daily skills.
Lymphedema for Various Body Parts
Lymphedema is a protein rich fluid that causes severe swelling of various body
parts such as legs, arms, head, and neck, chest, etc. Through the use of Manual
Lymph Drainage (MLD) and special bandaging, Lymphedema from problem area(s)
can be addressed and improved.
